Becoming a member of boat crew is a big commitment. We have high standards and expect our volunteers to meet those. We conduct regular patrols and as we develop as a charity will be training our crews to conduct search and rescue. Ideally you already have some boating experience, live near our base at Tees Barrage and be available for training both at weekends and the occasional mid week session.
Our crews must be physically fit as you will be expected to be able to rescue persons from the water and to be able to lift ‘Fred’ our rescue dummy. You will also be expected to conduct CPR and will be trained in first aid and the use of a defibrillator.
You will need to complete a medical form and our code of conduct.
